A new month means one thing over here at Remote Workmate: time to celebrate another Workmate! The Thank You, Workmate initiative allows us to spotlight a hardworking VA every month with the hopes of inspiring our other Workmates and our clients.
Last April 27 was Administrative Assistants Day and we’ll consider this post a belated greeting to our Workmate of the month and to all Administrative Assistants who are the backbone of every company.
For May, the honor goes to Joy, who is actually receiving this for the second time! You may recall, she is an Administrative Assistant for a tech solutions company.
Administrative Assistants do all sorts of day-to-day tasks without which the company would not be able to function. Tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering emails and phone calls, maintaining a filing system, and more are all important in running a business.
But Joy’s client says she does that and more:
Joy is currently serving as our admin assistant, but is doing so much more than that – she is helping with HR tasks, lead generation tasks, process documentation and general operations. I cannot speak highly enough of Joy – I feel blessed to have met her and have her as part of my team, truly. We have been discussing what the growth plan is we see for Joy.
We are so incredibly grateful for Joy – her reliability, integrity, and willingness to always help has surpassed all of our expectations. She is such an incredibly important member of our team and we feel lucky to have her!
High praises, Joy! We couldn’t be more proud!
What does Joy think?
Working with Remote Workmate has been such a blessing and I appreciate how I was perfectly matched with a client. It has given me the opportunity to be able to use my strengths/ skills as a Virtual Assistant and at the same time enjoy learning new things while working.
How does one become successful like Joy?
Joy says these are her tried and tested strategies to success:
1. Be punctual – It’s the least we can do as a staff and is also a sign of respect.
2. Under promise and over deliver – Do not bite more than you can chew.
3. Be sensitive – Anticipate the needs of the people around you; put yourself in their shoes.
4. Prioritize and create a system – Create to-do lists, organize tasks, and document processes.
5. Be proactive by providing constant feedback and suggesting improvements where you see fit.
Well said, Joy!
