It’s the first day of September and we all know what that means! Well yes, it means a certain song will start playing more often in the malls and on the radio.
But it also means it’s time for another Thank You, Workmate post!
The Workmate taking us into the BER months is Joy who works as an Administrative Virtual Assistant for a software and cloud development solutions provider. It’s a job that requires flawless organizational skills and attention to detail, which Joy is in abundance of, according to her client.
They said:
Joy has shown extraordinary commitment to this role and has gone above and beyond in
every single way. She is excellent at organization, pays extreme attention to detail, is
extremely responsive, and is always so willing to help with anything we have come up.
She is an excellent communicator, extremely self sufficient, and I never have to worry if
something that I ask of her will get done. Not only will it get done, it will get done well and
on time. At times I worry what I’ll do if she ever leaves me! Joy has been an excellent
addition to our team.
We absolutely love hearing that about our Workmates!
How does Joy do it?
Sometimes being a good worker isn’t just about exceptional industry knowledge and years of experience. Most of the time it all boils down to the basics.
Joy shares:
For best practices I have learned while working for the client, take notes as much as you can and record video instructions so you have something to refer to if you have questions instead of asking someone directly. Create a to-do list of your tasks and prioritize accordingly. And be proactive and seize any opportunities to help but make sure it’s still within your workload allotment/ shift.
For best practices I have been able to share with the team:
1. Be punctual – It’s the least we can do as a staff and also a sign of respect.
2. Under promise and over deliver – Do not bite more than you can chew.
3. Be sensitive – Anticipate the needs of the people around you; put yourself in their shoes.
Well said, Joy!
