The Philippines is one tenth the size of China or India but still manages to be one of the largest outsourcing countries in the world. In 2011 the Philippines was the country that had the most employees in call centers – around 400,000.
Since 2006, the outsourcing sector in the Philippines had a constant 30-45% annual growth. Last year, the authorities monitoring the outsourcing services estimated the country’s business process exports revenue at US$16 billion.
Manila is ranked number 2 in top 100 global outsourcing destinations, after Bangalore (1), surpassing Mumbai (3) and Delhi (4).
